CTH-512: Thomas Aquinas & Scholasticism

This course covers the broad topic of the use of technology for enhanced learning, with a focus on what is know as K-12 or elementary, secondary and high school education.

At the end of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Situate Aquinas and scholasticism in their historical and theological context
  • Discuss primary sources
  • Discuss great themes and arguments of Aquinas and scholasticism
  • Convey awareness of ecumenical and interfaith implications
  • Compare and contrast Thomism and the so-called New Theology (Vatican II)
  • Express personal, well-argued positions and opinions on the course topic.
