CH-EDU: Climate Change Education

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Climate Change Education (CH-EDU) is an interdisciplinary course designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the scientific, social, economic, and political dimensions of climate change. The course aims to equip future educators, policymakers, and leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively communicate and address the challenges of climate change in various contexts.

COURSE OBJECTIVES | LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of this course, the student will be able to:

Understand the fundamental scientific principles of climate change, including the greenhouse effect, carbon cycle, and the role of human activity in climate change.

Analyze the impacts of climate change on natural systems, human health, economies, and societies around the world.

Evaluate the effectiveness of current strategies, policies, and technologies aimed at mitigating and adapting to climate change.

Develop and apply communication strategies to educate diverse audiences about climate change, encouraging informed decision-making and action.

Design and implement educational programs and materials that effectively convey complex climate change information in accessible and engaging ways.
